I used to find myself thinking, “What if I never find a way to focus? Or what if distractions will always hold me back? And what if my goals forever remain beyond reach?” Then one day I realized, I’m not stuck. My life is not a dead-end. My problem was I had been reacting to life rather than creating it, and I needed to make a change.
I needed to change my narrative, but it wasn’t easy.
As human beings, we naturally want to do what comes easy to us. Pushing through the challenges we face is where we grow the most, but it takes significant self-control.
Change has not slipped through your fingers.
Are you sitting on the fence between changing and staying the same? I’ve been there and know what it feels like to go a day, a week, or a month without achieving your goals and feeling that change is out of your grasp. But it’s not hopeless.
Here’s how to start changing and living your life intentionally:
- Learn your CliftonStrengths
- Create your personal mission statement
- Reflect on your core values
- Outline your goals for the next three years then work backward to set short-term goals that will help you achieve them.
- Apply your strengths on a daily basis to make your goals happen
When you look back a year from now, you will realize you have accomplished your goals and had a clear path to success.
Don’t keep reacting to your life. Take your first step today.
Your Mission: At the heart of intentionality is living in your strengths daily and dominating your day.
